Located in Warren, we are seeking an Entry Level Apprentice to join our team full-time. McCarver Mechanical Heating & Cooling is a small, locally operated thriving business in Metro Detroit and Southeast Michigan. Owner and founder Chris McCarver saw an opportunity to change the heating & cooling industry. He created McCarver Mechanical which is based on integrity, honesty and timely response on installations and repairs. Position Overview:

As an Entry-Level Apprentice, you will play a key role in supporting daily operations. Your primary responsibilities will include staging materials for HVAC technicians, assisting in the warehouse, and providing hands-on support at job sites as needed.

You will also assist in the sheet metal shop with ductwork fabrication and help build equipment in the shop. This role requires a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in the HVAC field who is looking to gain hands-on experience and start a career in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist warehouse team by pulling materials and preparing equipment for jobs
  • Unloading & Loading materials on trucks.
  • Drive a company vehicle to deliver supplies to job sites.
  • Coordinate deliveries and pick up parts as needed.
  • Receive incoming shipments, check against purchase orders and store properly.
  • Help maintain service vehicles and coordinate repairs.
  • Support technicians on job sites as needed.
  • Assist in sheet metal & equipment building.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and work area.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • EPA Universal Certification.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.
  • Ability to use hand tools and lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Highly motivated with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Currently enrolled in trade school or finished.

Position Overview:

As an HVAC Service Technician, you’ll play a crucial role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining residential and commercial HVAC systems while delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately diagnose, service, and repair various HVAC systems (boilers, tankless water heaters, and SDHV systems experience is a plus!).
  • Perform routine maintenance on residential and commercial equipment.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and work effectively with the team.
  • Document service work and communicate findings with the management team.
  • Educate homeowners about their HVAC systems and recommended maintenance.
  • Promote preventative maintenance plans to build long-term customer relationships.
  • Ensure your company vehicle is stocked, organized, and well-maintained.
  • Present a clean, professional appearance.
  • Be dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented.

As a Lead HVAC Installer, you will lead and manage installation crews on residential and light commercial projects. You’ll ensure high-quality installations, mentor apprentices, and play a key role in maintaining our reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct HVAC installation crews Perform complete HVAC installations (residential & light commercial)
  • Mentor and train apprentices to develop their skills
  • Fabricate and install sheet metal
  • Install boilers (combi, steam & hot), ductless mini-splits, heat pumps, RTUs, air handlers, Spacepak, and tankless water heaters (a plus)
  • Ensure all work complies with current codes and safety regulations
  • Provide excellent customer service and clear communication
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Work overtime and occasional Saturdays as needed

What We’re Looking For:

Position Overview:

As the Installation Manager, you’ll oversee our HVAC installation department, managing day-to-day operations, providing leadership to install crews, and ensuring each job is completed on time, within budget, and with top-tier craftsmanship. You’ll work closely with our leadership team and clients to deliver exceptional service and uphold the McCarver Mechanical standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and manage installation jobs from start to finish
  • Lead and coach HVAC install technicians, apprentices, and subcontractors
  • Work with Lead Installers to help advise them on installation jobs & ensuring jobs are going accordingly
  • Perform job site walk-throughs and inspections to ensure quality and safety
  • Coordinate equipment deliveries, permits, and job timelines with the Installation Coordinator
  • Work alongside the Installation Coordinator to manage any violations, call-backs, and any installation appointments
  • Communicate clearly with customers, office staff, and suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with mechanical codes and McCarver standards
  • Troubleshoot installation issues and provide onsite support when needed
  • Assist with hiring, training, and onboarding new install staff
  • Track job costs, material usage, and labor efficiency
  • Manage the installation price book in Service Titan

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5-10+ years of hands-on HVAC install experience
  • Previous leadership/supervisory experience in the trades
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical code, ductwork, and various system types (furnaces, A/C, boilers, mini splits, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work with computer systems and ServiceTitan
  • Ability to handle fast-paced schedules and prioritize field needs
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Willingness to be hands-on and jump in when needed
  • High integrity, accountability, and attention to detail
