I was called to inspect a residential air handler that was not working properly. Upon arrival, I observed that the unit was not producing any heat or air conditioning. I checked the electrical connections and found that one of the wires had come loose. I repaired the wire and tested the unit again. The air handler now produced heat and air conditioning. Clear the condensate drain on an evaporator by removing the drain pan, unscrewing the drain plug, and draining the water into a bucket. Then, use a wet/dry vacuum to remove any remaining water from the drain pan and evaporator coil. Finally, screw the drain plug back into place and replace the drain pan.
